About the client

The client builds an invoicing and warranty platform powering large, multi-location businesses like enterprise retailers. When a store experiences an issue (HVAC, plumbing, refrigeration, etc.), the client helps coordinate technicians, capture timesheets and receipts, normalize data from multiple legacy systems, and generate accurate invoices for warranty and billing workflows.

As a Senior Python Consultant, you will operate as a individual contributor, hands-on backend engineer with strong architectural judgment. You'll focus on integration-heavy backend work, data normalization, and scalability with limited frontend involvement.

Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of onboarding new enterprise customers
• Design and implement scalable backend integrations
• Normalize diverse data structures into a single internal model
• Improve ingestion pipelines for timesheets, receipts, work orders, and invoices
• Speed up and automate customer onboarding
• Help define and evolve internal APIs and services
• Work closely with founders and engineers to make impactful decisions

Requirements:

• 7+ years professional experience with Python as a backend/data engineer
• experience with any Python framework - ideally FastAPI
• Proven experience with system integrations and third-party APIs
  
• Strong data modeling and normalization skills
• Ability to understand complex business workflows (ex. accounting, invoicing, logistics, delivery)
• Comfortable in fast-moving startup environments
• Consulting mindset: solution-oriented, impactful, outcome-focused
• Experience with data reconciliation and schema evolution
• Familiarity with AI-assisted workflows (LLMs)
• Experience working with multiple vendors and custom APIs
